Paddles is what happens when a chef with a wilderness soul and a designer with a lifelong love of hospitality decide to bring their passions under one roof. Tom is an Eagle Scout and former waterfront director, whitewater rafting guide, and backcountry hiking pro—so he knows a thing or two about feeding hungry campers. Long before he was hand crafting burgers, he was in the Boy Scout camp kitchen serving up hearty mess hall meals. Now, he makes almost everything from scratch and curates a menu that’s equal parts nostalgic and elevated.
Mikayla runs the front of house and brings a deep love of Lake George to everything she does. She grew up right here—boating, paddling, swimming, and soaking up every sun-drenched second. This lake is her happy place—and Paddles is their shared love letter to it. She also grew up in the restaurant world, working at her family’s beloved spots, most recently, Mezzaluna—the very restaurant that once called this space home. When Mezzaluna moved up the road, they passed the torch to Tom and Mikayla, who transformed the space into Paddles: a tribute to camp memories, great food, and Adirondack spirit.
With a BFA in Graphic Design and years of working in the corporate world, Mikayla now brings her creativity to every corner of the experience—from the field guide-style menus to the nostalgic interiors and playful brand details that make Paddles feel like camp, but cozier.
Above all, Paddles is a place where everyone is welcome. We believe diversity makes us stronger—and we back that up in everything we do. From the international students we employ to the inclusive, respectful culture we foster every day, we’re committed to being a kind, safe, and affirming space for all.
No bunk beds or tents here—just cozy lighting, vintage flair, and the kind of laid-back charm that makes you want to stay a while. It’s everything you loved about summer camp—but with better provisions and no curfew.
